In the first freedom struggle of 1857, where the whole country was fighting to break the shackles of slavery, the same history was written in Mainpuri. Chauhan dynasty Maharaja Tej Singh Judev had achieved Fateh by defeating the British army by staying in the fort built in Mainpuri. Maharaja Tej Singh Judeo brought the British rule to its knees by staying in the historic fort of Mainpuri.
